This Privacy Policy describes how My TV Remote: Smart Bluetooth ("the App") handles your information. We respect your privacy. The App is designed to function primarily on-device and does not require you to create an account.

Short version: We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data. Bluetooth device discovery and control happen on your phone. Any device identifiers seen during Bluetooth scanning are processed only to enable the connection and are not uploaded to our servers.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information. Specifically, we do not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or any content from your device.

When you use Bluetooth features, your phone may temporarily access:

  • Nearby device information (e.g., Bluetooth device name, device class, and a hardware identifier) solely to discover and connect to your TV or accessory.
  • Connection status (e.g., connected/disconnected, signal strength) to maintain the link and allow remote control functions.

These data are processed on your device only and are not transmitted to us.

Permissions We Use

The App may request certain Android permissions to provide core functionality:

  • BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN or BLUETOOTH_CONNECT/BLUETOOTH_SCAN (newer Android versions): to find and connect to nearby Bluetooth devices.
  • ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or NEARBY_DEVICES: Some Android versions require these to scan for Bluetooth devices. We do not use these permissions to access or store your location.
  • (Optional) INTERNET: Only if features such as update checks, help pages, or crash reporting are enabled. The core remote functionality does not require internet.

Third-Party Services

By default, the App does not send your data to third parties. Distribution through Google Play may involve Google Play Services for installation, updates, and crash diagnostics provided by Google, governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.

If you enable optional diagnostics or analytics in a future version, we will clearly disclose this in-app and update this Policy accordingly.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Data Retention

We do not retain personal data. Temporary Bluetooth data used for discovery and control is kept in memory only for the duration of your session.

Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to keep the App secure. Because no mobile software is perfectly secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Users

Your data does not leave your device. If future cloud features are added, we will disclose processing locations and safeguards here.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and/or on the listing page with a new effective date.
